LERSA Holds Strategic Review with FRSC Lagos Sector Command
Lagos, February 12, 2025 – The Lekki Estates Residents and Stakeholders Association (LERSA) paid a courtesy visit to the Lagos Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC).
The President of LERSA, Chief Alhaji Sulyman Bello Fiwagboye of Ogombo Kingdom, led the delegation. He stated that the visit was aimed at strengthening the relationship between LERSA and the FRSC while expressing appreciation for the Corps' commendable efforts in maintaining safety and order along the Lekki corridor and Lagos State at large.
During the meeting, the Chairman of LERSA's Transportation Committee, Mr. Femi Oke, highlighted several key issues for consideration, including:
Deployment of more officers and vehicles along the Lekki corridor.
Provision of ambulances for emergency response.
Strategies to reduce road accidents.
Health insurance policies for FRSC officers.
Establishment of additional unit commands in the Lekki axis.
Implementation of the LERSA-FRSC Marshal initiative.
Strict enforcement of traffic rules, use of radar guns, and penalties for offenders.
Introduction of breathalyzers for testing drivers.
Installation of proper road signage.
Penalties for hidden license plate numbers, among others.
The Sector Commander, CC Hamzat Ganiyu Kehinde, welcomed the LERSA delegation and expressed gratitude for their support and collaboration. In his remarks, he acknowledged that some of the issues raised were familiar and assured that gradual implementation plans were already underway. He emphasized that achieving many of these objectives would require active support and partnership from the Lekki community and other stakeholders.
Commander Hamzat pledged the FRSC's continued support and a commitment to working closely with LERSA to enhance safety and security within the Lekki corridor.
