LERSA Environment Committee Engages with Ibeju-Lekki Executive Chairman to Discuss 2025 Strategic Environmental Plan
On February 11, 2025, the LERSA Environment Committee held a productive engagement with the Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki, Hon. Engr. Sesan Olowa. The meeting focused on outlining and aligning strategic environmental initiatives for 2025 to enhance sustainability and development across the Lekki Peninsula.
Mrs. Ronke Akinsete, Chairman of the LERSA Environment Committee, presented the committee’s key plans for the year, which include:
- Restricting Baba Bolla activities to designated dumpsites.
- Engaging and sensitizing Baba Bolla operators on proper waste management practices.
- Conducting sensitization programs for market traders on environmental responsibility.
- Promoting plastic waste recycling initiatives.
- Participating in Lagos State environmental events.
- Implementing beautification and greening projects along the Lekki-Epe Expressway.
Hon. Engr. Sesan Olowa commended LERSA for its unwavering commitment to improving the Lekki Peninsula and praised the strategic environmental plan for 2025. He noted that many of the proposed initiatives align with Ibeju-Lekki’s development goals.
The Executive Chairman emphasized the local government’s strict stance against indiscriminate waste dumping and expressed strong support for the proposed recycling facility in Ibeju-Lekki. He assured LERSA of the local government’s full collaboration in achieving these environmental objectives
