On 27 June 2026, the LERSA (Lekki Estates Residents Association) Education Committee and strategic partners held a strategic brainstorming session at De Marii Hotel, Lekki Free Trade Zone, Ibeju-Lekki, with the Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Olowa Abdullahi, key stakeholders of the Ibeju-Lekki local government, Lekki Worldwide, Representatives of Epe Local Government, and over ten vocational training institutions.
The meeting focused on finalizing the implementation strategy for the launch of two flagship youth empowerment initiatives: the Career Accelerator Programme (CAP) and the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Programme. Discussions covered beneficiary recruitment, implementation timelines, institutional roles, and the overall execution plan for the programmes.
A key outcome of the meeting was the agreement to officially flag off the Career Accelerator Programme (CAP) on 27 July 2026, as part of activities marking the first anniversary of the Ibeju-Lekki Local Government Chairman's administration. The programme is expected to commence with 200 to 300 beneficiaries.
The meeting also reaffirmed the commitment of the LERSA Education Committee, EMTC, LWIL and its partners to replicate the initiative across Epe Local Government, and Eti-Osa LGA following the initial rollout in Ibeju-Lekki, thereby expanding access to vocational skills development and employment opportunities for young people across both local government areas.
